Hiking in the pine forest massif
Above the campsite, in the pine forest, you’ll find an orienteering course, a botanical trail, mountain bike trails, the St Jaume trail and the Sainte Suzanne cross. Built a long time ago. The arid climate is said to have left its mark on the history of the local people, who erected a cross to Saint Suzanne to protect crops from drought. Listed in 1538, the cross stands on the site of a former oratory and rural chapel that disappeared in the 16th century. In 1924, following a severe drought, the saint was prayed to on August 11, her feast day, to bring rain. Every year, a procession goes to the foot of the cross to pray to the saint.
